Arty

With her permission, I'd like to share a self portrait my eldest daughter has been working on for the past couple of days:

1. She used the Gimp open-source art package
2. She drew it freehand with the mouse

(She usually works with pencil and pastels, never directly on the PC.)

Simon Haynes is the author of the Hal Spacejock and Hal Junior series (Amazon / Smashwords / other formats)

Miss Haynes, that is simply AWESOME... Partly because you used the GIMP, which automatically boosts your street cred to 9.5/10, but mostly because the pose is completely wacky and delightful and, for me, really captures the spirit of youth.

Well done!

OOh, get the girl a Wacom tablet, because if she can do that with a mouse, no telling what she'll come up with using a pen that registers how hard she's pressing and everything.

Wow. Very impressive.

Is this the same daughter with the evil guinea pigs?
